Wolves held the ball and the momentum for a majority of the match, but failed to finish the large majority of their chances. Bolton were held to few chances, but converted theirs. Everyone looked sluggish, as if the three week international break was spent in Ibiza, and Saturday’s loss wasn’t enough to wake them up. Tell me if you’ve seen this before.
Jose Sa – 4
A rough mistake leading to the first goal, and the rest of the match was just ok. Had a couple decent saves, and the last two goals he couldn’t do much about.
Kieran Trippier – 6
Did a good job controlling his side of the pitch for a majority of the match, and most of the attacks coming from that side stemmed from him. Looked miles better than what he looked like on Saturday, but still not quite what I think everyone has been hoping for with this signing.
Nasser Djiga – 7
He seems like he is really settling in at the back as a consistent anchor that Wolves haven’t had for a while. He doesn’t do anything over the top, completes his passes, makes the tackles he needs to make.
Ladislav Krejci – 6
Krejci did ok overall, and had a great ball for the only goal of the match. Didn’t stand out much to me, but it was a decent performance.
Hugo Bueno – 5
Feel like he struggled a little more getting down the flank than in the past, with some less than great communication between him and Mane. Did well defensively,
Jordan James – 5
He was much quieter going forward than he’s been lately, and just didn’t do a whole lot the entire match. Not much to say about him.
Andre – 6
Per usual, he held most of the midfield down, but just not progressive, similar to James. So much side to side with nothing going through or forward. Seemed a bit slower today as well.
Jean Ricner Bellegarde – 6
He had a great touch and an even better goal for the equalizer, but outside of that was very weak. Crosses went everywhere, and the best he could get out of any dribbles was a deflected corner.
Fer Lopez – 5
A very quiet match, especially from what we’ve grown used to. Seemed to be no way through for him, but it’s difficult to get through when you have a black hole at forward.
Mateus Mane – 5
I thought he was okay today, he is just missing that last piece. Whether it’s a touch, cross or pass, he seems like he’s always just one away. So many great crosses today that were wasted, but so many more could’ve come with a pass away before losing the ball. It was a mixed bag but I do feel like he’s getting there a little more each week. Three offsides is a rough negative, this isn’t Sunday league, you should know where the defense is.
Adam Armstrong – 2
I don’t think I could possibly say enough negative things about his performance today. He isn’t fast enough to run through, he isn’t strong enough to hold up the ball, he isn’t quick enough to beat a man 1 on 1, he doesn’t have enough technique to get a shot on target (or in event of an open net, away from the keeper). He’s just a black hole in the middle of an attack that otherwise has some pretty decent talent.
