Wolves enter negotiations with Atletico for Thomas Lemar
Wolves have again been linked with a move for Thomas Lemar according to various sources (most notably Le10Sport). It’s thought that Jorge Mendes is trying to broker a move as he has close ties with the Spanish club. However, it’s understood that Atletico don’t want Lemar to go out on loan and would only let him leave on a permanent transfer in a bid to free up some cash for transfers.
Although it’s understood that Wolves aren’t currently looking for a direct replacement for Diogo Jota, Lemar would fit that bill perfectly. Although he’s failed to impress at Atletico in the limited game time he’s had, he’s still only 24-years-old, a World Cup Winner and if he could replicate the form he showed at Monaco then Wolves could have a real player on their hands.
Wolves one of three clubs left in the running for Aït-Nouri
Three clubs are in a ‘final fight’ for Angers left-back Rayan Aït-Nouri. Wolves, Barcelona and Bayer Leverkusen are all chasing the 19-year-old who is valued at around 20 million euros according to Le10Sport.
Talking Wolves had previously discussed the possible signing of Rayan Aït-Nouri and it’s understood that if Wolves were to be successful in signing the highly-rated youngster then it could mean an exit for Ruben Vinagre. Wolves are reportedly happy to let Vinagre go for the right fee (thought to be north of £10m) with Porto circling as they look to replace outgoing Alex Telles.
Coady to sign new Wolves deal
Talks are reportedly ongoing between Wolves and Conor Coady with the club captain in line for a second new contract in less than two years as reported by the Daily Mail. Coady’s career has been completely galvanised since Nuno moved him to a sweeper role and the club are looking to tie down Coady to an even longer deal ever since he received his first England cap just weeks ago.
Neil rejects Wolves
Sunderland midfielder Daniel Neil is set to reject Wolves and sign a new three-year deal with his current club. The 18-year-old attracted plenty of interest from the Premier League but is set to sign a new deal at the Black Cats according to Football Insider.
Leo Bonatini to sign a new deal
Wolves reportedly extended Leo Bonatini’s contract at the club until 2023 before completing his loan move to Grasshoppers according to Sports Witness. It’s understood Bonatini’s future certainly lies away from Wolves but the club are conscious that if the Brazilian does have a good couple of seasons in Zurich then his resale value will be next to nothing. Tieing him down to a new deal would increase if transfer value if he was sold having impressed on loan at Grasshoppers.
