Now that the November international break has drawn to a close, let’s take a look at the contributions of the Wolves players for their respective nations, with many helping their countries to secure World Cup qualification. Written by Oliver Desai.
Tolu Arokodare – Nigeria
Tolu came on as a very late substitute in Nigeria’s semi-final match of the CAF World Cup Qualifiers against Gabon, which Nigeria won 4-1. Similarly, he came on as a substitute in the final against DR Congo, before being replaced again deep into extra time. The score AET was 1-1, but Nigeria lost 4-3 on penalties, meaning that they failed to qualify for the World Cup.

Jackson Tchatchoua – Cameroon
Tchatchoua played the full 90 minutes against DR Congo in the World Cup qualifying semi-final, which Cameroon lost 1-0 in added time. Unfortunately, this means they miss out on a place in the 2026 World Cup.

Jean-Ricner Bellegarde – Haiti
Bellegarde played the full 90 minutes against Costa Rica in a World Cup qualifier, which Haiti won 1-0. He also played the full 90 minutes against Nicaragua, which Haiti won 2-0. This meant that Haiti won their group in the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers, qualifying for the World Cup for the first time in 52 years.

Jørgen Strand Larsen – Norway
Strand Larsen was an unused substitute in Norway’s first qualifying match against Estonia, which they won 4-1. However, he scored a superb solo goal against Italy after coming on as a substitute in the 89th minute, scoring the final goal in their 4-1 victory over Italy. This secured Norway’s qualification for the World Cup for the first time since 1998.

David Møller Wolfe – Norway
Wolfe also contributed in both of Norway’s victories, playing 86 minutes against Estonia, assisting Haaland with a headed pass, and 89 minutes against Italy.
Total time played = 175 minutes
Emmanuel Agbadou – Ivory Coast
Agbadou played 90 minutes in a friendly against Saudi Arabia, which the Ivory Coast lost 0-1. He did not make an appearance in their 2-0 win over Oman, which was also a friendly.

Jhon Arias – Colombia
Arias played 77 minutes in Colombia’s 2-1 victory in a friendly against New Zealand. However, he did not feature in their 3-0 victory in a friendly against Australia.

Hee Chan Hwang – South Korea
Hwang played 76 minutes in South Korea’s 2-0 victory in a friendly against Bolivia. He came on as a substitute in their match against Ghana, missing a penalty, striking the ball straight into the goalkeeper’s arms.

Santiago Bueno – Uruguay
Bueno was not included in the squad which drew 0-0 with Mexico. He was an unused sub in their 5-1 defeat against the USA. Both matches were friendlies.

Tawanda Chirewa – Zimbabwe
Chirewa was subbed on at half time against Algeria, scoring a consolation penalty in the 89th minute in a game Zimbabwe lost 1-3. He did not feature in Zimbabwe’s 2-1 victory over Qatar. Both matches were friendlies.
