Wolves Player Ratings After 3-0 Loss To Leeds

Wolves’ relegation is all but confirmed as they were comfortably beaten 3-0 at Elland Road. Goals from James Justin and Noah Okafor inside the opening 20 minutes set the tone before a late penalty from Dominic Calvert-Lewin sealed a damaging defeat.

The Old Gold struggled to impose themselves throughout, managing just one shot on target and failing to recover from a disastrous start. Here are our player ratings for Wolves vs Leeds.

Dan Bentley – 5/10

Thrown into a difficult situation and largely exposed by the defence in front of him. Could do little about the goals but didn’t inspire confidence either, especially under Leeds’ relentless early pressure. Not a great day for the third-choice keeper.

Santiago Bueno – 4/10

Struggled physically and positionally. Part of a backline that couldn’t cope with Leeds’ intensity early on.

Toti Gomes – 4/10

Looked uncomfortable dealing with movement in behind. Lost key duels and couldn’t organise the defensive line. Such an odd choice for the captain’s armband, especially when it’s only his third start of the year.

Ladislav Krejčí – 5/10

One of the few who showed some fight and even threatened from a set-piece, but was part of a defensive unit that was overrun. Went off injured late in the second half after a clash with Aaronson.

Jackson Tchatchoua – 3/10

Not one Wolves fan will ever be convinced that Tchatchoua is a Premier League footballer. Offered nothing going forward and was pinned back for long spells. His defensive positioning is laughable at times.

André – 5/10

Tried to get on the ball and slow things down, but was bypassed too easily in transition.

João Gomes – 5/10

Worked hard as always, but lacked composure. Couldn’t gain control in midfield as Leeds dominated the early phases.

Hugo Bueno – 4/10

Struggled defensively and didn’t provide enough attacking width to relieve pressure.

Jean Ricner-Bellegarde – 5/10

Had flashes of energy but was largely ineffective in the final third.

Angel Gomes – 3/10

Lacks penetration and doesn’t influence the game creatively enough. Far too lightweight in possession.

Adam Armstong – 5/10

Unlucky to have his goal disallowed as it was a tidy finish, but spent most of the game isolated as lumping the ball up to him doesn’t work.

Substitutes

Mateus Mané – 5/10

Early change but struggled to influence proceedings in a game already slipping away.

Pedro Lima – 5/10

Added some energy after the break, but couldn’t change the tempo or direction of the match.

Rodrigo Gomes – 5.5/10

One of the brighter cameos. Offered direct running and had Wolves’ best attacking moments. It’s a shame he can’t seem to break into the starting lineup.

Hwang Hee-chan – 5/10

Tried to stretch play, but service to him remained poor.

Wolves were effectively beaten inside the first 20 minutes and never recovered. Leeds’ intensity, movement, and clinical finishing exposed a fragile defensive structure, while Wolves lacked both creativity and attacking presence.

With just 17 points from 33 games and another defeat added to the tally, relegation is now almost inevitable.
