Wolves eyeing up another Mexican superstar
Wolves have been touted as a possible destination for Porto winger Jesus Corona according to Sports Witness.
The Portuguese club is in need of money and knows there are good suitors to land the Mexican player. The 27-year-old has already been managed by Nuno Espirito Santo from when he was the manager at the Estádio do Dragão.
Corona has spent most of his career with Porto, having been signed by Twente from Mexican side Monterrey before making the switch to Portugal.
The Mexican can play adequately across the front three but this season has been utilised in the RWB position – perfect for Wolves’ playing style under Nuno. He’s been impressive for Porto this season and has been one of – if not their standout player this campaign. Displaying great technical ability with either foot, Corona would be a welcome addition to Wolves.
Jesus Corona has played 43 times this season for Porto – scoring four times and assisting eight.
Lazio still keen on Wolves’ Leander Dendoncker
Lazio are still keeping tabs on Wolves’ Leander Dendoncker according to reports from Corriere dello Sporto. However, the Italian club believes the €25m valuation for Dendoncker is too much and they are hoping to secure a better deal.
It’s though that Lazio believe that Wolves ‘owe them a favour’ after the double swoop for Bruno Jordao and Pedro Neto, who the latter has been a revelation since his switch to England.
If reports are to believed, Wolves offering a valuation must mean they are a position to sell Dendoncker who struggled to feature in the first-team for an extended period after his £12 million move from Anderlecht. Since his involvement in the fixture against Chelsea in the 18/19 season, the Belgian has been a regular for Wolves and many had suggested that Wolves’ turn in fortune in that season was down to the involvement of the versatile midfielder.
Many Wolves fans would value Leander Dendoncker around the £30-35 million mark due to his versatility across the defensive and midfield positions. It’s not yet understood if Lazio have the finances for the deal.
Fosun to utilise other investments to get around work permit issues
Wolves have reportedly offered €7million for IFK Göteborg midfielder Alhassan Yusuf according to SCORENigeria.
It’s reported that Wolves will buy Yusuf and then loan him out to Swiss club Grasshoppers, a club with close ties to Fosun, until he is ready for the Premier League.
The 19-year-old midfielder moved to IFK Göteborg from the Tika Taka academy in Nigeria. Yusuf had previously been linked with Ajax and Barcelona and won the Allsvenskan’s Newcomer of the Year award for his contributions in the league last season.
Yusuf can play through the midfield and can be deployed as a holding midfielder, a box-to-box midfielder and even as an attacking midfielder.
