WOLVES FC LEAGUE HISTORY

Wolves have never won the Premier League since it was formed in 1992. Only six clubs have won the Premier League before.

Wolves have won 11 league titles including:

3 Division One Titles

4 Championship / Division Two Titles

3 League One / Division Three Titles

1 Fourth Division Title

Wolves last won a league back in 2017-18 season which was the Championship. They last won a Division One title in the 1958-59 season. 

Wolves last won a trophy back in the 2017-18 season which was the Championship title trophy.

WOLVES FC FA CUP HISTORY

Wolves have won the FA Cup five times in the club’s illustrious history. Only nine clubs have won more FA Cup’s than Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolves last won the FA Cup in the 1959-60 season. Wolves beat Blackburn 3-0 thanks to goals from Norman Deeley.

Wolves have won the League Cup twice since their formation in 1877.

Wolves last won the League Cup in 1980. Wolves beat Nottingham Forest 1-0  thanks to a goal from Andy Gray.

WOLVES FC EUROPEAN HISTORY

Wolves have never won a European Cup. They did finish runners-up in the UEFA Cup in the 1971-72 season when they were beaten 3-2 on aggregate by Tottenham Hotspur.

Wolves are currently competing in a European competition having qualified for the Europa League after they finished 7th in the 18/19 Premier League season. Before that, Wolves were last in a European competition in the 1980/81 season.

Steve Bull MBE is Wolves’ all time leading goalscorer. Idolised by Wolverhampton Wanderers fans, Bull scored 306 goals in 561 games – including 18 hat-tricks.

Derek Parkin is Wolves’ all time leading appearance maker as he played for the club 609 times between 1968-1982.

Mexican superstar Raul Jimenez is Wolves’ all time record transfer when he made his loan move from SL Benfica permanent in 2019 for £30 million.

The biggest fee Wolves have received for a player was from Leeds United in 2020, when they paid £16 million for Helder Costa.

Wolves’ greatest victory came against Crosswell’s Brewery in the FA Cup 2nd round on 13th November 1886. Wolves won 14-0.

Wolves‘ biggest defeat in their history came in October 1892. They lost 10-1 to Newton Heath.

Wolves‘ biggest ever points tally for a season was in the 2013-14 League One winning season where Wolves accumulated 103 points. It still remains the record points total for the division.

MOLINEUX STADIUM -WOLVES FC

The current capacity for Wolves’ stadium is 31,700. There are numerous plans to expand Molineux to eventually increase capacity to up to 55,000.

The biggest attendance ever recorded at Molineux was in 1939. Wolves played Liverpool in the FA Cup and 61,315 fans were in attendance.
